UIU Student Rumaiya Karim Ramisa Takes দেShe Jewellery Brand Global

Rumaiya Karim Ramisa

Rumaiya Karim Ramisa, a former student of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College and a BBA student at United International University (UIU), is building an international fashion jewellery brand alongside her university studies. Her brand, ‘deShe’, has expanded beyond Bangladesh and is receiving orders from customers in several countries.

Ramisa began her entrepreneurial journey in 2020, initially selling jewellery sourced from different suppliers. Over time, she shifted towards creating jewellery based on her own ideas and designs, working with skilled artisans to develop distinctive pieces for her brand.

Although she is not a professional jewellery designer, Ramisa developed her identity through creativity, experimentation and continuous learning. Her early business journey also involved setbacks, losses and failed experiments with different products.

Instead of giving up, she used those experiences to improve her products and business strategies. Through consistent effort, she gradually developed দেShe into an established fashion jewellery brand by 2025.

দেShe Expands Beyond Bangladesh

Today, দেShe offers a diverse collection of fashion jewellery, including Kashmiri bangles, Turkish rings, anti-tarnish rings, glass jhumkas and contemporary jewellery pieces.

The brand uses imported materials and provides replacement options for defective products, with a focus on maintaining product quality.

From a Viral Instagram Video to International Orders

দেShe international journey began after one of its videos went viral on Instagram. Following the video’s popularity, the brand received its first international order from Pakistan.

The brand later started receiving orders from customers in India, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and other countries.

The growing international response has encouraged Ramisa to explore more overseas markets and expand দেShe global presence.

Young Entrepreneur Balances Business and Education

Ramisa’s journey from a university student interested in fashion jewellery to the founder of an internationally expanding brand highlights the growing opportunities for young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh.

By combining her university education with entrepreneurship, she has continued to develop her brand while learning from challenges and adapting her business strategies.
